Sally

Sally is a living reminder for all those dogs (and cats) that go into shelters and never come out. She was picked-up by the county animal control agency and taken to a shelter where she would have been killed (euthanize is too nice a word) within 3 business days "if not claimed". Thankfully, my wife saw the animal control van leaving our road and, after some calls and hours of waiting at the shelter, got her released into our custody.

The sad fact is that Sally lived across the road from us and apparently her owner tired of her and called animal control to remove her. It is truly sad that anyone would abandon an animal or sentence them to death. To do it to a pet that has lived with you is incomprehensible.

As I said, thankfully my wife saw the vehicle or Sally would not be here. Actually she is not here. Our alpha female, Zoey, could not handle having another female in the house and we were blessed that our daughter was able to add Sally to her family. More about Sally and her older sister Sophie in a later blog.

Courtney Bee,

We will be eternally grateful for the love you and Ms. Sophie have shown Sally. It is like the two girls were long-lost sisters that suddenly rediscovered each other! Sophie and Sally really are very sweet dogs.
